nuit blanche

here are a couple of snaps taken by the darling Amanda Farias of the theatre zero playing during nuit blanche. we're camped out in the middle of yonge street at gerrard. it. was. freezing.

bedroom makeover - part 1

before (previous owner's belongings)
first step in the bedroom beautification process, well really the whole house,
but why not start with the place where i spend the most time sleeping.

hot pink borders painted white - check
reading nook - check
put together annoying ikea bed - check

now to spice it up a little, maybe paint a wall, what do you think?

have you seen the trailer for "the raven" with john cusack as edgar allen poe?
it looks incredible, like a mixture of sherlock holmes and sleepy hollow.

devil's night masquerade

follow the white rabbit

here i am, crawling back. i know it's been a while since i've last written, but i think my life has finally settled down just a fraction so that now i can just barely process collecting my thoughts to form one paragraph with them. over the last month i've celebrated a birthday, packed up the loft and moved down the street to a "charming" little house, said goodbye to a great friend and crucial member of the theatre zero, played all night long through the bitter cold that was nuit blanche, and have nearly gone crazy. now to see where the rest of the year will take me.

all the other kids with the pumped up kicks

this past sunday i took a walk along queen west with some friends, hit up a local brunch spot, and shopped the vintage stores. the guys scored jackpot as each one found their perfect fitting blazer, all $15 each. can't go wrong at that price. don't they look suave in their new(ish) jackets?

Do you want to go in the bathroom and smoke a cigarette with me?

i have a slight crush on the uber-talented jason schwartzman, i'll admit it. all of these photos are from a 2009 campaign with band of outsiders, which usually features only the coolest actors/musicians. he's quirky and tends to choose projects that are completely original, or at least helluva interesting. he stars in one of my favourite shows, bored to death, which also features ted danson and zach galifianakis. he's a struggling writer as well as a private detective on the side. the show is witty and well written and since the day i spotted it on hbo i was hooked. he also stars alongside owen wilson and adrien brody in the criterion collection classic, the darjeeling limited. i could watch this movie continuously on repeat. if you haven't seen either of these shows/movies you need to. then get back to me on your jason schwartzman obsession, 10 points to the person who knows what movie the title of this post if from.
