i'm not in love

a couple videos from a crystal castles concert i went to last weekend at the sound academy.
it was disgustingly hot and over crowded, but they played longer than their usual 10 minutes,
so I can't complain. they even brought on a faux robert smith to sing not in love.

i just heard the new song by jack white & co (danger mouse/ daniele luppi) called
'two against one' and it's brilliant. everything this guy touches turns to gold.

help me, i need somebody

i know this is my second post this week featuring a photo of john lennon, but after a weekend of helping callum sift through old beatles songs on reel-to-reel tapes, i can't seem to keep their songs out of my head (especially 'help me', whoever recorded these had an obvious obsession with this song). this photo is also a reminder to myself that i'm desperately slacking on my guitar practice.

after a weekend spent in the country, i always feel slightly disappointed
to be heading back to the city. all of the noise, unpleasant smells, frantic people,
and the ttc make me want to cower in my apartment – daydreaming of fresh air,
and fields as far as the eye can see. {and the occasional cow - moo}

a summer song, sung all along

summer feels within my grasp today. this saturday is supposed to be a beautiful, breezy 16 degrees and i am planning to soak up every minute of it, outdoors and surrounded by the wilderness.

lately i feel like time is passing me by rather slowly, which is nice for a change.

all dogs go to heaven

my poor dog passed away in his sleep this past sunday. he was 18 years old, so that
makes him 126 human years old, that's an old dog! he was still up to his old shenanigans 
the night before, running up and down the fence to bark at anyone that passed by.
